Aidez cardigan :: Aidez Strickjacke

This is my new aidez cardigan, finished yesterday, just in time for the deadline of the Aidez KAL on Celtic Cast On's blog. It is made with Drops' new yarn called "Drops ♥ You". It is a super warm yarn made of wool, alpaca and linen. The cardigan knitted up really quickly. It took me four weeks to finish but there were a lot of days without knitting on it.  I knitted the whole thing seamless and connected the front extensions to the back with short rows. That worked really well and made it look professional :-)

I am quite happy with the result, but there are two things, that I don't like. First, it grew longer than I anticipated and second, I made the shoulder section deeper, that means longer raglan lines because so many people on ravelry complained about the thight shoulders. That's why it is quite saggy in this part. Maybe I will unravel the raglan section and adjust it. More details on my ravelry page.

Another Landlust jacket :: Noch eine Landlust-Jacke

When my mum saw this jacket she was a tiny bit jealous and really admired it. So I promised I would make one for her, too. We chose a light grey that would go with many colours so she could wear it on many occasions. I wanted to finish it for her birthday in September and on that very day I added the button bands and the buttons. She was really touched by it and I think it is a wonderful gift to knit a cardigan that warms the person you love in any cold weather.

You can find the details on my ravelry page

My first Waldorf doll :: Meine erste Waldorfpuppe

Hello lovelies! I am back! I can't believe how quickly this summer went by. So many things happened and I have quite a few projects to share with you. But where to start... I think I'll start with the most recent one. It was my nephews 4th birthday and somehow I thought it would be a good idea to give him a doll, a buddy to cuddle and play with, a friend that comes with him on all his adventures. I discussed the matter with my sister and we agreed on a deal. She would make the body and give him a face and I would then add hair and make the clothes for him. So two weeks ago a little naked doll arrived in a parcel and I got started. And that's the result. I named him Michel, because he reminded me of Astrid Lingren's Michel (in Swedish he's called Emil).

Hiding in the flower bed. :: Verstecken im Blumenbeet.
Time for a little pick-nick. By the way our only pumpkin this year and the last of our cougettes.

These are the clothes I made: Underpants with a little car, a long sleeve t-shirt, trousers and pyjama pants crocheted shoes with leather soles, a kerchief and a knitted cardigan.

Look, he even got a patchwork blanket and a pillow!

Ready for travelling. :: Fertig fuer die Reise.

By the way, his hair is made out of mohair yarn because the waldorf doll book said that mohair would make a very natural looking hair. So I chose Drops Vienna in natural colour and I am quite happy with it.

Sailor elephant :: Matrosen-Elephant

It was my youngest nephew's first birthday a few weeks ago and there was no question that the boy should get something special for his special day. I decided to knit Elijah by Ysolda Teague. It is just a wonderful pattern! It is very detailed and never leaves you in doubt. The instructions are very clear so it means if you follow them the little chap will turn out just as sweet as in the pattern picture. I decided to give him a red and white sailor jumper and I also added a little tail with a fringed end. I have to admit that it was quite hard to give him away but he now has a lovely home and was received with great joy.

Pattern:  Elijah by Ysolda Teague
Yarn: Lana Grossa Cool Wool Merino 2000 in light grey for the body
         Schachenmayr nomotta Catania in red and natural for the jumper
Needles: 2.5 mm

bag for my mum :: Tasche fuer Mama

This is a bag that I am a bit proud of. I made it for my mom on mother's day using Lisa Lam's pattern in "The Bag Making Bible". I didn't make it reversible, I rather added a zippered pocket inside to make it more useable for my mum. Instead of a button a made a fabric flower using this tutorial with a hidden magnet inside for closure. If you want to try this bag you can find the pattern free for download here.

Giveaway winner !!!

Wow! What a great week! I must say I only went through part of the blog lists. You could literally spend hours and hours with reading through lovely new blogs. Thank you so much for your sweet comments. We sure have a winner for summer food and I think the 1st place of summer food has to be shared with starwberries and ice-cream. So many of you like that most, followed by fresh fruit and salads. But now on to the winner of the patchwork pillow. I used a random numer generator to get the most objective result and Mr No. Generator spit out No. 41.

Wow! Was fuer eine tolle Woche! Vielen Dank fuer all Eure lieben Kommentare.

And that is Laura. Congratulations! Watch out for an email by me! And here's what Laura said:

Und das ist Laura. Herzlichen Glueckwunsch!

Ziggy Pullover

Ziggy by pi-pa-po
This is the finished jumper for my nephew Henry. It was actually finished quite a while ago. I just had to wait for some photos with the actual model ;-) I had quite a hard time with the pattern at first but after one or two repeats I understood the logic behind it. The result was definitely worth it and little Henry like his new jumper although there is still plenty of room to grow into.

Gloves :: Handschuhe

These are gloves that I made as a Christmas gift for my mum. I used Drops Baby Alpaca Silk Yarn which is wonderfully soft and has a luxury feel to it. My mum loves her new gloves and used them very often during the cold winter days

Yarn: ca. 60 g of DROPS BabyAlpaca Silk, 8465 medium grey
Needles: 2,75 mm

PS: The photos are about four weeks old, now there is no snow but almost spring!
